# Studios

# Studios

Studios are one of the strongest current assets in the repo, which is why they are part of the first normalization cycle.

## Current Data Foundation

The legacy corpus already includes tens of thousands of studio records. The ontology-first task is not to throw that away. It is to:

* normalize it
* deduplicate it
* attach provenance and trust fields
* move records through `recordState`

## Current Endpoint

`GET /studios` is the current public list endpoint.

It still uses a legacy paginated response wrapper, but it is part of the supported public surface and remains the baseline for transition.

## Studio Contract Direction

The public studio model is moving toward:

* canonical identity
* normalized location
* stable specialty and style references
* trust and provenance envelopes
* explicit public versus unverified posture

## What Not to Assume

* a public studio record is not automatically verified
* a studio category string is not the same thing as a style taxonomy
* legacy booleans do not replace ontology trust fields
